The DPCRMA hosted an
educational seminar for club members and visitors.
Nancy Christensen talked about the Working Aptitude
Evaluation (WAE) and the 'ideal' Doberman temperament.
The seminar was well attended. Special thanks to
Dorothy Foegen for hosting the event at her home.

The Colorado Pet Expo is an
annual event held at the Colorado Convention Center.
This year, the DPCRMA had a booth at the event to
provide public education about our breed and the issues
facing the Doberman community (including Breed Specific
Legislation). Throughout the weekend, the DPCRMA
booth answered Dobe related questions, handed out
pamphlets and information. Our booth was staffed
by wonderful Dobermans and even more wonderful Doberman
owners that volunteered their time to tell the public
all about our breed. With hundreds of visitors to
our booth, this was truly a successful public education
event!
The
2006 DPCRMA WAE was held in conjunction with the DPCA
Regional Specialty held just before the DPCA Nationals.
32 Dogs were evaluated - 8 passed. Evaluator: Eve

Sandi Atkinson worked the 'umbrella station' like a trooper!
Annette Williams & Maurice Spiridon take a break between the dogs. Annette was our 'can shaker' for most of the day while Maurice was the 'gun man'.
Maurice Spiridon shoots the starter pistol to evaluate the dogs for sound sensitivity and recovery.
Iris Danziger was the 'neutral stranger'. Evaluator Eve Auch checks the dog's reaction.
Julie Holmes got the best job of the day...she was the 'friendly stranger.' Here she gets a little love from one of the dogs.
Club member Maurice Spiridon takes his girl through the WAE -- she certainly wasn't afraid of the umbrella test!
Maurice Spiridon's little girl was quite happy to give the 'bad guy' a piece of her mind! This little girl passed the WAE with flying colors!

Sandi and Neil Atkinson did
an amazing job hosting the DPCRMA 2004 Holiday Party on
December 4th. Approximately 15 club members attended.
The two main highlights of the evening were the
delicious potluck and the enthusiastic gift exchange.
The centerpiece of the
potluck was Heavenly Ham (and it certainly was!). There
was a wonderful selection of side items and desserts.
The group even enjoyed Jon and MaryAnn’s homemade wine.
The
gift exchange proved to be extremely entertaining.
Our 'white elephant' gift exchange allows each person to
either pick a new 'mystery' gift from the pile or to
'steal' someone else's gift (which starts a cycle of
theft and new present openings!). Some groups are too
polite to truly enjoy this game but I can safely say
there were no holds barred at our party! Example: Nancy
stole the jingle collars from Anna; Anna stole the raw
meaty bones from Kathryn; Kathryn stole the barrel of
biscuits from Neil and Neil ended up opening a new gift
(a Doberman calendar). There were many great exchanges
and all the gifts were both thoughtful and highly
coveted. In fact, we were lucky that Joannah and
Annette are such classy ladies or there might have been
a scuffle over the coffee gift pack!
